Party Venues in Knightsbridge

Choosing the right venue is often the most significant decision in planning any celebration. From marking a milestone birthday, hosting a private dinner or gathering friends and family, the space you select sets the tone long before the first glass is poured.

In Knightsbridge, which is one of London’s most desirable pockets, party venues range from grand hotel ballrooms to townhouses, boutique hideaways and contemporary private rooms. The area has become a natural destination for those seeking to celebrate in sophisticated surroundings.

In this guide, we spotlight ten of the area’s most distinguished venue options.

Kent House Knightsbridge

A Victorian townhouse near Hyde Park, Kent House Knightsbridge is one of the area’s more adaptable private venues, with a marble-floored hall, sweeping staircase and two terraces that give it the feel of a private home. Its two floors are linked by a red staircase, often dressed with lanterns and flowers, which leads to a glass atrium that brings natural light into the space.

Available exclusively for event hire, the venue can accommodate between 50 and 300 people, hosting cocktail parties, dinners and themed celebrations with the capacity that many central London townhouses lack. Its blank-canvas nature appeals to hosts who want to imprint their own style on an event, whilst the in-house design team is able to assist in developing proposals based on the client’s concept, sourcing each element and refining details to reflect their vision.

The Berkeley

A Knightsbridge fixture, The Berkeley offers several private event spaces. Its recently redesigned Ballroom accommodates several hundred guests for standing receptions and suits larger celebrations, charity events and corporate gatherings.

The adjoining Belgravia Room by John Heah can serve as a breakout, cocktail space or standalone venue, with natural light and views over Wilton Place. Smaller rooms such as the Wilton Room provide private, fully equipped settings for business or social occasions, with the option to connect to the neighbouring Knightsbridge Room. The Knightsbridge Room itself lends an elegant backdrop for meetings, lunches or intimate receptions and can be combined with the Wilton Room for a unified space.

With in-house catering spanning traditional and contemporary menus and a team experienced in private events, the hotel remains a consistent choice in the heart of SW1.

The Lanesborough

Situated between Knightsbridge and Belgravia, The Lanesborough features ornate, neoclassical interiors that are particularly well-suited to private occasions.

The Belgravia Room is its principal space, a light-filled chamber just off the front hall, with hand-painted ceilings and Georgian windows overlooking Hyde Park. Licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, it carries the atmosphere of a long-standing London institution, with chandeliers, a period fireplace and decorative art completing the setting. Accommodating up to 120 guests, it remains one of the capital’s distinguished formal event rooms.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

The Mandarin Oriental offers some of the most substantial event spaces in the area. Its Ballroom, with its own private entrance, provides ample room for large celebrations, with the added benefit of Hyde Park views.

Other spaces include the Balfour Room, which has natural daylight and city views and a selection of meeting rooms such as the Asquith and Carlyle. The Loggia offers a smaller, more intimate setting with tall windows and soft natural light. Hosts also have access to the hotel’s culinary team and an events department experienced in high-profile occasions.

The Carlton Tower Jumeirah

Following a significant redesign, The Carlton Tower Jumeirah has repositioned itself as a location for private events. Its Ballroom seats up to 250 guests and can be divided into three soundproof sections, accessed via a private entrance and exclusive floor access for those seeking discretion.

The Garden Rooms, enclosed by a glass roof and overlooking Cadogan Gardens, offer a naturally lit setting, while the Maple Room, an intimate space with views of the gardens, serves smaller meetings and gatherings of up to twelve guests.

The Franklin London

Situated on Egerton Gardens, The Franklin offers a boutique alternative within Knightsbridge. Designed by Anouska Hempel, the interiors have a distinctive, residential feel that appeals to hosts seeking something understated and refined. Its Library and private dining rooms suit smaller celebrations, such as dinners, engagements and cocktail parties, where atmosphere takes precedence over scale.

The Bulgari Hotel, Knightsbridge

At the Bulgari Hotel London, events take place within a setting defined by contemporary design and a focus on privacy. The Ballroom seats up to 150 or hosts 280 for standing receptions when paired with its adjoining foyer, while a suite of boardrooms and private offices accommodates more discreet meetings. The Lord Marshall Rooms, finished in mahogany and silver, offer quiet, fully equipped spaces for groups of seven to sixteen, with private breakout areas and tailored dining. The hotel’s 47-seat Private Cinema provides an additional option that is suitable for presentations or screenings.

The Serpentine North Gallery

Although technically within Hyde Park, the Serpentine offers one of London’s more atmospheric collections of event spaces, combining Grade II-listed character with contemporary architecture and a changing roster of exhibitions. The Serpentine South, housed in a 1930s tea pavilion, contrasts with the Serpentine North, once an 1805 gunpowder store and now a blend of exposed brick and modern gallery design. The Magazine, Zaha Hadid’s striking extension to Serpentine North, provides the galleries’ largest entertaining space and may be hired on its own or alongside the adjoining rooms. Each summer, the internationally recognised Serpentine Pavilion adds a further highlight: a temporary architectural commission that offers a distinctive indoor–outdoor space for receptions from June to October.

As with any celebration, the venue shapes much of what follows and in Knightsbridge the choice reflects not only taste but the shifting ways Londoners gather. As celebrations continue to evolve, becoming smaller in some cases, more ambitious in others, Knightsbridge is well placed to adapt and will remain a reliable backdrop for marking life’s moments long into the city’s next chapter.
