For UK collectors, Zurich is one of the easiest of Europe's great sale cities to reach: a direct flight from London lands you there in under two hours. That convenience, paired with the country's famously scenic setting at the heart of the continent, has long made Switzerland a natural draw for buyers from around the world. When the Tailored for Speed Collection, a single-owner run of carefully chosen supercars, arrived in Zurich last October, the sale proved a resounding success. RM Sotheby's is now returning to the city, and this next event looks set to build on that momentum.
The Hyatt Park Zurich will host the sale on 26 September, drawing collectors from across the globe, UK bidders among them, to view and bid on cars spanning several decades of motoring history. Some remarkable vintage entries feature in the catalogue, but it's the newest lots that are generating the most excitement.
Here's a closer look at three standout cars from the 2020s.
2020 Pagani Huayra Roadster
Convertibles usually pay a weight penalty: stripping away the roof means adding structural reinforcement elsewhere to compensate. Pagani found a way around that convention with the Huayra Roadster, engineering the car around a proprietary material called Carbo Trixa-HP52 and shaving 70kg off the coupe's kerb weight in the process.
With production capped at just 100 examples, this is a genuinely scarce find. The bodywork is finished in a deep, glossy Red Dubai, set off by black anodised aluminium and custom Diamond Gold wheels. That palette continues inside, where red stitching, 'Roadster' embroidery on every seat, and black anodised aluminium dashboard components pull the whole design together.
This particular example has known only one owner since new, who is also the seller. It's offered with its original matching luggage set, styled to echo the car's aluminium accents, and still
carries a factory warranty extending to March 2030 that covers three scheduled services.
Cataloguing recorded an odometer reading of just 592 kilometres. The car carries a pre-sale estimate of £2.28 million to £2.74 million.
2024 Mercedes-AMG ONE
The ONE is Mercedes's most direct expression yet of what its motorsport programme can do for a road car. At its heart sits a homologated version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid V6 that debuted in Formula 1 in 2014, the same season Lewis Hamilton joined the team from McLaren.
Swapping out the previous naturally aspirated 2.4-litre V8 for that engine coincided with an extraordinary run of form: Mercedes won 111 of 160 races through to 2021, a stretch in which Hamilton drew level with Michael Schumacher on seven World Championships.
Fitting that engine into a road-legal successor to the 1990s CLK GTR took years of development and ran into more than a few obstacles along the way, the pandemic among them. First shown in concept form in 2017, the production car didn't actually arrive until 2022, which happened to coincide neatly with AMG's 55th anniversary.
This particular example was completed in 2024 and has remained with its first owner ever since.
It's one of only 275 built, finished in black and wearing the livery Mercedes's F1 team ran during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, picked out in Petronas Green. The three-pointed star is given pride of place, anchoring the design along the rear of the car.
Under the bodywork, five motors combine to produce 1,063 horsepower, enough for a 0 to 100kph sprint in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 325kph. Active aerodynamics, including an F1-style drag reduction system, help it hold the production-car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Mileage is similarly low at just over 500 kilometres. The sale includes a generous set of accessories, among them a special-edition Xbox One controller and a pair of AMG-branded earphones. It's estimated at £2.10 million to £2.28 million.
2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione A
Ferrari's tradition of open-top, front-engined specials stretches back to the limited-run Barchetta Pininfarina at the turn of the millennium, and the 812 Competizione A carries that lineage forward. As the drop-top counterpart to the 812 Competizione, it holds the title of the fastest naturally aspirated road car Ferrari has ever built.
True to form for one of the marque's most sought-after models, it was offered only to established clients, with production limited to 599 cars. That exclusivity is matched by genuine performance: 0 to 100kph in 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 340kph.
Delivered new in 2023, this example has stayed with its original owner and carries an extensive list of bespoke touches. It's finished in Extra Range Blu Elettrico with yellow accents throughout, Scuderia shields on the front wings, a removable hardtop, and diamond-polished wheels. Inside, tan Cuoio leather is trimmed with blue and yellow detailing that mirrors the exterior scheme.
Registered for road use in Switzerland in April 2025 and inspected as recently as August, the car had covered just 1,576 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, a clear sign of how carefully it's been used. It comes complete with its Ferrari 'Yellow Book' and is estimated at £1.46 million to £1.83 million.
